6-Second Block Times Achieved!
A major upgrade for the Moonbeam network was shipped with the successful implementation of asynchronous backing, reducing block times from 12 to 6 seconds. This upgrade drastically improves throughput capacity 8x, enabling faster transactions and improved user experience.
With this upgrade, we expect new opportunities for dApps requiring rapid transaction finality and better onchain UX.
Developer Ecosystem Growth
Electric Capital's Mid-Year Refresh Report shows Moonbeam's developer growth at an impressive +11%, bucking the trend of declines in many other chains.
🌎 Global Expansion & Partnerships
Brazil in the Spotlight
Moonbeam is making significant strides in Brazil, Latin America's largest crypto market. 12% of Brazil's 214 million population now uses cryptocurrencies, 50% above the global average.

Blockchain RIO 2024 (July 24-25)
Moonbeam was a proud sponsor of the major event Blockchain RIO showcasing Brazil's Web3 future. There were over 300 speakers and thousands of attendees with keynotes from industry leaders like Charles Hoskinson and Fábio Araújo of Brazil's Central Bank.

N3MUS: First Investment from $10M Innovation Fund
We’re building a comprehensive gaming ecosystem.
- Some stats from N3mus: 7,000+ wallets, 80+ blockchains, 140+ games, 1M+ monthly active players.
- Sicco Naets, Head of Ecosystem Development at Moonbeam, joins as an advisor.
Other Gaming Developments
Evrloot, a dark fantasy RPG, launched with new features becoming one of the most transacted games on Moonbeam. Web3 gaming discussions took place at Soulbound GG and Aura Commerce Spaces.

🌳 Environmental Initiatives
Carbify Partnership
Carbify is a RWA-based carbon offsetting platform building on Moonbeam. It offers NFTrees representing real Amazon rainforest trees. Users can mint NFTrees and earn $aCO2 tokens for carbon absorption.

Blockchain Rio Collaboration
Carbify joined Moonbeam as a Gold partner at Blockchain Rio (July 25-26, 2024). We introduced co-branded beer with QR codes creating a unique Web3 experience.
Carbify also has an onchain game game that uses Moonbeam as a hub for its multichain architecture.
